For those individuals, the 14-day long Soggiorno tour may be the ideal vacation.

On this trip, you’ll get the chance to explore the Italian countryside, partake in traditional cuisine, and so much more as you absorb the true lifestyle of Tuscany. Whether you’re a couple, a family, or a group of friends; we’re sure that you’ll enjoy your time here with us.

We’ll take you to a number of historic towns, offer plenty of sightseeing opportunities, give you the chance to try fine Italian dining, and more – all in the first few days. Over the course of your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a number of great activities too, from wine tasting at family-owned vineyards, to a cooking lesson; all of which together can make for a truly memorable experience.

Each day offers a fresh chance to try new things, and even learn more about the people who live their daily lives here. Watch artisans perfect their craft, or listen to musicians playing traditional music; there are countless things to see and do, both included as part of your vacation’s itinerary and during your leisure time.

Our extended tours commence every Saturday and end every other Saturday – and if you want to book your own unforgettable experience here in the stunning region of Tuscany, be sure to do so soon. These only run from the 28th of March to the 24th of October, so spaces may be limited.

Tour Itinerary

  • SATURDAY – Arrival
    • Your stay here in Tuscany begins when we come to pick you up from the station to take you to your accommodation for the next 2 weeks. When you arrive, we’ll give you some time to relax after your journey, and take in the villa and its surroundings. If you’re hungry after all the excitement, you’ll be glad to hear that we’ll be taking you into the town of Cortona to enjoy a traditional Italian meal.
  • SUNDAY – Cortona
    • “Your first tour here will be in Cortona; a town which is well-known for its culture, ancient architecture, fine dining, and more
    • Your host will take you on a relaxed guided walk of the region, giving you a chance to take it all in and learn more about its history in the process. After your exploration of the area, we’ll take you to one of the many trattorias here for a tasty Tuscan lunch.
    • When you’re done with your meal, you’ll have some free time to do whatever you want; whether that’s sightseeing or just sitting back and relaxing. At 4pm, we’ll give you the option to either stay in the town for a bit longer, or come with us back to the villa. Later on, we’ll meet back up in Cortona again for another enjoyable evening out. For today’s dinner, you’ll get to try an Italian Aperitivo in the Piazza and a delicious dinner (with wine included, of course).\”
  • MONDAY – Siena & San Gimignano
    • To start your day off, we’ll be heading to the town of San Gimignano at around 9 in the morning. When we arrive, you’ll get to enjoy a coffee, while learning a bit about this iconic location; from its history, to the many sights to see. We’ll then give you a chance to take your exploration into your own hands – and whether you want to spend your time taking in the scenery, chatting with locals, or shopping is up to you. But this isn’t all we have planned for today; afterwards, we’ll be heading into Siena. Here, you’ll meet up with a tour guide who’ll take you around the town while giving you some facts on the area. We want you to get the most out of your experience here, so we’ll leave you to do your own thing for a while before we meet back up for dinner. You’ll have an evening meal in one of Siena’s restaurants at around 6pm, where you’ll get yet another great fine dining experience.
  • TUESDAY – Tour Free Day
    • After doing so much on the trip so far, you may want to have a day with no tours to relax, or perhaps go on an adventure of your own. Later, at around 6pm, you’ll get to have another Tuscan dinner, as we’ll take you out for a spectacular meal.
  • WEDNESDAY – Florence
    • “The next part of your stay involves a trip to Florence – and don’t worry, we’ll take care of the train fares!
    • When you arrive, you’ll get the chance to spend your time in the region in any way you like for several hours; allowing you to explore, do some sightseeing, or just relax. Later in the afternoon you can make your way back to Cortona by train and we’ll take you back to your apartment where you can unwind after such an exciting day out.”
  • THURSDAY – Chianti
    • The excitement is far from over yet. For today, we’ve planned a trip to the majestic and ancient town of Chianti. Castellina is our first stop, where you’ll get to drink a fresh coffee while you learn more about why this area is such a popular tourist destination. For lunch, you’ll get to enjoy a meal at the Querceto di Castellina Winery – as well as partake in an amazing wine tasting session.
  • FRIDAY – Activity
    • Cheese Making or Wellness Day “On Friday, you’ll be able to participate in either a spa day or a cheese-making lesson – it’s your choice!
    • For the first, you’ll get to take a day to let your mind and body relax, while the latter can give you a chance to not only find out how cheese is made, but also give you the opportunity to make your own. After a long day, we’re sure that you’ll appreciate some more relaxation, with a nice dinner and wine in Cortona.”
  • SATURDAY – Arezzo
    • “Today promises more excitement and adventure, as we’ll be taking a train to the next destination of your vacation. We’ll be visiting the stunning town of Arezzo, and we’ll make sure to give you some information about the area’s history and some ideas on how you could spend your day. Next, we’ll give you plenty of time to put this knowledge to good use, so make sure you spend it wisely
    • Later on, we’ll return you to your accommodation to relax after your visit to Arezzo. Finally, you’ll get to have another fine dining experience here in Cortona, as we tuck into a traditional Italian meal and wine at a local eatery.”
  • SUNDAY – Pienza & Montepulciano
    • With a full day ahead, we’ll depart to the town of Pienza, the birth place of Pope Pius II; a small township famous for Pecorino cheese and beautiful boutiques, first, allowing you to savour the stunning sights on the journey. In between Pienza and Montepulciano, we’ll make a stop for lunch at an organic farm and to allow you time to really get to grips with the iconic architecture and sights in this captivating area. After lunch we visit Montepulciano, also located in the Val d’Orcia. This township is a true gem, great shopping, wonderful trattorias, cantinas and sulumerie for wine and cheese tastings. We’ll then transport you comfortably back to your accommodation in the late afternoon, where the rest of your evening will be yours to enjoy as you wish.
  • MONDAY – Tour Free Day
    • To kick start the new week, we’ll give you a chance to spend the day doing whatever you want – so if there’s any activities you’ve been meaning to do, you may want to do them now. • TUESDAY – Cooking Class
    • Not many people can say that they’ve had a cooking lesson in the heart of Tuscany – and that’s exactly what we have planned for you today. For this activity, you’ll get to cook a 4 course Italian dish under the guidance of a professional, as well as enjoy the fruits of your labor.
  • WEDNESDAY – Orvieto
    • For today, you’ll get to experience one of our most popular tours – the trip into Orvieto. We’ll have lunch at one of the local restaurants, and from here you’ll get the chance to check out this area on your own; whether that involves sightseeing or shopping. Finally, to end the tour of the day, you’ll get to enjoy fine dining in this stunning location before heading back to your accommodation.
  • THURSDAY – Lucignano
    • There’s plenty to see and do in Lucignano, which is one of the reasons why we’ve scheduled a trip to this historic town. From the MuseoComune to the Castle of Calcione, there are a number of landmarks and sights to see. When we get there, we’ll make sure that you have a few hours to explore, as well as a traditional Italian meal for lunch. At 6:30pm we’ll visit a pizzeria in Cortona to give you the chance to try a true Italian pizza.
  • FRIDAY – Tour Free Day
    • This is your last day here and to ensure that you make the most of your stay, there will be no tours – giving you the chance to spend your last hours however you want. As a farewell and thank you, we’ll have one last dinner and complementary wine together at a nearby restaurant.
  • SATURDAY – Departure
